No suitable time?

  1. 1

    Book a free consultation

Pick a time in the calendar. It takes under a minute. A solicitor will phone you at that time to understand what you've been asked to sign and confirm your fee.

  2. 2

    Send your documents

Email the documents from your lender or broker, with your ID. Your solicitor reviews them before your meeting.

  3. 3

    Your advice meeting

Your solicitor explains the documents and the risks in plain English, by video or in person in London, and speaks to you on your own to make sure the decision is yours.

  4. 4

    Sign and send

You sign the documents, your solicitor signs the ILA certificate, and everything is sent to your lender, usually the same day.

What to have ready

  • The documents your lender has asked you to sign
  • Your lender’s ILA certificate template, if it has one
  • Photo ID (passport or driving licence)
  • Proof of address dated within the last three months

Common questions

How long does the advice meeting take?

It depends on the documents. Your solicitor will tell you how long to allow when they confirm your appointment.

Can someone else join the meeting?

A family member or broker can sometimes join part of the meeting, but your solicitor will also need to speak to you on your own.

Do I need to come to an office?

No. Most advice is given by video call. If your lender requires a face-to-face meeting, that can be arranged in London.
