No suitable time?

Together lends where mainstream banks often won’t: short-term bridging, second-charge loans, and lending to businesses and property investors. These loans move quickly, and the security often comes from more than one place. That means more people are asked to sign, and more of them need advice.

The people we most often advise for Together loans are directors guaranteeing a company’s borrowing, family members charging their own property as extra security, and adults living in a property being charged.

Things to look at closely

With specialist and bridging finance, your solicitor will pay particular attention to the exit (how the loan will be repaid), the interest and default terms, and every property being charged. See our bridging loan ILA checklist.

When you might need independent legal advice

Bridging loan guarantees

Directors and shareholders guaranteeing short-term loans to a company.

Third-party charges

Family members or partners using their property as extra security.

Second-charge loans

Occupiers and co-owners consenting to a secured loan on a home.

Commercial mortgages

Guarantees and security for business property lending.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly can you advise on a Together bridging loan?

Often the same day, once we have the documents and certificate wording. Tell us your completion date when you book.

Do I need to use Together's own certificate?

If Together has given you a certificate or form for the solicitor to sign, use it. Send it to us before your appointment so your solicitor can complete it in the right wording.

Does Together accept independent legal advice by video?

Many lenders now accept video advice, but requirements change and can differ between products. Check Together's instructions, or ask your broker. If a face-to-face meeting is needed, we can arrange one in London.

Are you connected to Together?

No. My Online Lawyer is independent of Together. We connect you with an SRA-regulated solicitor who acts only for you.

My Online Lawyer is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for Together. We use the name only to describe documents our clients have been asked to sign. Always follow your lender’s own instructions, and check its requirements with your broker or the lender if you’re unsure.
